FAQ -The List of Source Entries Retrieved from MathSciNet

 How it works
 What you the author are supposed to do

As of September 12, 2005, authors of The Annals of Probability, The Annals of Applied Probability and The Annals of Statistics will be provided with a list of source entries retrieved from MathSciNet (MR List).

How it works

The MR List is constructed in the following way:

  • the references section of an article is scanned by Python script getMRef;
  • the request is send to Mathematical Reviews (MR) Database for each bibliographic item;
  • if the search request returns a hit, the MR number is added to bibliography item and the bibliography record from MathSciNet (response) is added to MR List;
  • if the search fails, Not Found! is added to the MR List.

What you the author are supposed to do

Compare the Reference section from the galley proofs with the MR List:

  • if the search engine returned an incorrect bibliography item, cross out the corresponding MR number from the References section of the galley proofs;
  • if the search returned a record that is correct and exact, no actions should be taken;
  • if the returned record is correct, but some details are different from the corresponding Reference entry in the galley proofs, carefully check and correct the Reference entry in the proofs (when applicable);
  • The MR List as it is presented will not appear in the final versions of your article.
