Contents of a .zip file

Following files are included in the distribution:

document class file;
imsart package (it's loaded by imsart.cls);
suggested bibliography style (bibtex file);
topmatter template;
journal sample article;
journal sample article(pdf file);


  • unpack .zip file;
  • install imsart.cls, imsart.sty, imsart-nameyear.bst,imsart-number.bst in your TeX system (suggested directory: imsart);
  • use the file coll-template.tex to start your IMS Collections' article as a template;
  • use the file coll-sample.tex as a reference for how to prepare a frontmatter of your article;

Simplest usage of imsart package

The simplest (but not recommended) way to use imsart package is to replace line
in your LaTeX document.

Recomended usage of imsart package

Use coll-template.tex as a template. The preamble of your Latex document should look like this:

\runtitle{A Sample Document}
\thankstext{T1}{Footnote to the title with the `thankstext' command.}

  • option preprint must be used to produce the final version:
  • labels a,b are used to connect authors with addresses;
  • labels T1,t2 are used for thanks;
  • labels e1,e2,e3,u1 are used to print electronic addresses. If hyperref package is used, they will be made into hyperlinks;
  • \contribution command is used to produce a List of Contributors for the entire IMS Collections volume;
